The 2021 el Coco opens with aromas of juicy framboise, ripe strawberry, bramble and musk within a toasted French oak frame. A rich entry of black plum, darker toned fruits and crushed gravel is complemented by some bright, freshness of Bing cherry and floral notes through the length of the palate and finish. A balancing acidity and pleasing tannins lead to a lifted close of satiating white pepper.

Rich aromatics of dark stone fruits and soft French oak mingle together to frame a very sophisticated entry with more than ample weight. The bright mid-pallet is replete with waves of concentration. High tones of ripe cherries and cassis come together and coat the mouth in richness. The finish is broad and expansive and lingers elegantly for over half a minute.

A color spectrum of deep garnet with a vestige of ruby on the periphery fills the glass. Deep, brooding aromatics of wild berry laced with ripe boysenberry is immediately present leading to mineral notes, toasted herb and a sprinkling of oak. Upon entry, the wine layered with concentrated, densely woven fruit. The mid palate reveals pure flavors of blueberry, raspberry jam, chaparral, and spring flowers supplanted with a lively vein of minerality. A long, lingering finish with subtle, refined tannins adds ideal complexity and pedigree.
